Safe Operating Guidelines – Alert Level 2

The facility will be following the guidelines set out by:

Monday-Friday: 8:00 am -8:00 pm

Saturday**: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Sunday: Closed

8:00 am – 10:00 am – Seniors hours

10:00 am – 3:00 pm – General Public use

3:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Athletics use*

*          Athletics use is for Pearlgate Club members or other sports clubs who have booked the use of the facility

**         Saturdays are Athletics use only, if no practice is scheduled, public use can occur at the staff’s discretion

Facility Use Procedures

  • Staff member to be on site at all times for use of facility to be permitted
  • Staff members to dawn face masks if within 2m of other employee or track user
  • All staff and patrons are to check in with staff and complete a screening questionnaire prior to entering facility. Staff member to record track users name, phone number, time of entry, and a confirmation of screening.
  • All patrons, athletes, and coaches to follow physical distancing measures of 2m of separation. There will be no physical contact permitted with the exception of emergencies and assisting differently abled track users.
  • Signage of expected distancing and hygiene measures to be posted at entrance, track side, and outside washroom facility.
  • The facility is to be entered from the lower parking lot and exited at the upper parking lot.
  • No more than 40 patrons are allowed to enter the facility at one time, this is to be monitored by the staff member. Patrons include coaches, athletes, and spectators.
  • All patrons to sign in with staff member immediately upon entering facility.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the sign in location
  • All coaches to record and keep log of all athletes who attended each practice
  • Group practices to remain at 15 people or less with no more than two groups permitted to use the facility at the same time. A group is considered a singular training pod under the supervision of a maximum of two coaches.
  • If coaches are interacting with multiple groups in a single visit, it is encouraged to wear a face mask.
  • Pearlgate track and field club will manage the scheduling of the athletics use hours. Any group wishing to schedule use of the track must contact staff to coordinate use of the facility.
  • RJTW programs will be coached on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-7pm in groups of 10.
  • No spitting will be tolerated
  • No sharing of water bottles will be permitted
  • In case of an emergency that requires first aid or physical intervention, masks and gloves are to be available with first aid supplies and should be put in the open to avoid entering of facility to access supplies.
  • Track
    • During public and seniors hours the direction of movement will be in the counter clock wise direction
    • During public and seniors hours any passing must be done from two lanes to the right of the individual being passed
    • During athletics hours, coaches are to ensure the direction of running is coordinated with any shared users
    • During athletics hours, each athlete to be assigned their own 2 lanes for running
    • Starting blocks, steeple barriers and hurdles to be used by single athletes.
    • Wheelchair racing equipment to be handled by users and any attendant associated with the athlete.
    • Equipment is to be cleaned by the user after use and by staff member prior to use. When staff is sanitizing they are to be wearing face mask and gloves.
  • Field
    • During public and seniors hours field equipment is not to be used
    • During athletics hours, one athlete or coach is to be assigned to an individual piece of field equipment (i.e. throwing implement, rake, broom, measuring tape).
    • Long Jump Procedures
      • Sanitizing your hands before and after each jump.
      • Avoid getting sand in your eyes, nose, or mouth.
      • The landing pit should be fully turned and raked before and after each individual athlete/user.
    • High Jump Procedures
      • Pits are to be covered by a large tarp that must be fully sanitized before and after each individual athlete/user.

    • Para throw equipment is permitted to be handled by both the user and any attendant associated with the athlete.
    • Equipment is to be cleaned by the user after use and by staff member prior to use. When staff is sanitizing they are to be wearing face mask and gloves.
  • Washrooms
    • Washrooms remain open for one single user at a time, exceptions will apply for personal attendants for differently abled patrons.
    • Doors to the washroom will remain wedged open and are not to be closed until the closing of the facility.
    • Showers are not permitted in the washroom facility
    • Each washroom stall and counter to be equipped with cleaning products for patrons wipe down areas used.
    • Employees to sanitize washrooms every 2 hours and after opening and closing of facility.
