Erica graduated with her Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Applied Math/Physics in 2017. Currently, she is enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program at Memorial University where she competes with the MUN SeaHawks Track & Field Team. Erica’s coaching career began with instructing Gymnastics at the age of 15. She worked with recreational and competitive level athletes at Campia Gymnastics for 4 years and is trained NCCP Level 2 in Women’s Gymnastics. After falling in love with the sport of Track & Field, Erica transitioned into coaching with Pearlgate Track & Field when she noticed a need for new coaches. This new position enables her to continue her long-time passion for coaching in a sport she actively competes in. In September 2017, Erica attended the NCCP Club Coach Jumps Course in Toronto to advance her coaching education. Now, Erica coaches Jumps – with a special interest in Long Jump – for athletes of all ages and abilities. Her #1 coaching principle is to assist athletes with meeting their individual potential and to provide a positive training atmosphere that is accessible for all. Inspired by her former coach, Becky Sjare, she is passionate about increasing involvement in the sport and encouraging others to engage in an active, healthy lifestyle.
